Types of silk fabric

The type of silk Habotai-Silk is characterized by a particularly smooth and fine mesh structure. Such silk fabrics are often used in silk painting. Woven fabrics consisting of yarns which are woven irregularly or which overlap strongly during processing are referred to as silk crepe.

How is silk made in the short version?

Silk is an animal fiber. It is extracted from the cocoons of the silk caterpillar, the larva of the silk spinner. Silk is the only non-reworked textile fibre in nature that consists mainly of protein. Silk was first produced in China about 5000 years ago.
